Over Water And Under Sun:

Over Water And Under Sun:

The water glistens in rolling sheets,
In free flight after escape,
The sun falls between the clouds,
A moving arrow between shadow and dark,
All that is known is hunger and flight,
Over Water under sun,
As the fish flies.

In clouds of green arrows,
Translucent wings open and splashes mark the return,
Into the silent deep the dance of predator and prey is rejoined,
Just a brief glorious view of the sky,
Unconscious or is it,
Could fish dream of the stars once they've flown at night,
Wonder if the heights are where the Ultimate is,
Pass a boat in flight seeing alien life,
Might they look you in the eye in flight?

The question arises from the depths,
Are we flying fish,
To see the sky in brief flights over deep waters,
Reveling in flying above chasing jaws,
And can we ever fly above it all,
Finally fly forever?

Burst up in a spray of flight,
Spread my wings to dream the sky dream,
Not for being chased,
Just for the joy over water and under sun.

I dreamed I was flying with a cloud of green fish.
