The Chicago Sticks...

Chicago suburbs at Rush,
Thinking "rush hour" a term for oxy morons,
Lost an hour as the sky was blue,
Temperature started climbing,
Before we made fifty miles or Indiana,
Eventually the twilight faded into the farmland,
The full gibbous Moon rose over taillights and lane markers,
It was a Mercury retrograde moment,
We back country two-laned around a spill on I-65,
Police lights beckoned us to bed,
3 a.m. in Wilmington, KY,
Still fleeing south.
