The vista is immense,
Expansive and panoramic,
At once immediate and timeless.
A water buffalo lives next to a Holstein steer,
Camel the next pen over,
Just before the wallaby cage,
As a honeybee chases me off the shady bench.
I have been watching the sun shine,
Down onto the mountains and the vinyards,
Glorying in the silence of the winds as crows soar on thermal spirals.
Our granddaughters and their new friend have been playing in the chicken coop.
The rabbits do not mind.
