Unto Every Corner...

Post by AquarianM on Dec 13, 2005 at 10:57pm

The image linked in this piece was part of the Christmas challenge at another poetry board. We were to write whatever the picture inspired us to. This is what I saw in that little place high upon the hill.

Unto Every Corner...

To the small places,
To the far places,
Up the highest snowy mountain,
Below the depths of the deepest darkest sea,
Within the center of the Earth,
Out to the farthest reaches of space and time,
Love touches all of creation.

Symbolized completely in the fading light,
Even to the smallest chapel upon the highest hill,
As Christmas Eve draws in the light in a hush of clouds,
Spreads angels out to all the world,
There is a time in every place,
To embrace the season of Love shared selflessly.

Without the gift of Love not a snowflake could fall,
Not a single tree bough nor peak nor valley,
No void filled without Love's undying light.

Go and tell it upon a mountain,
What this night and this world are for,
A child born knowing this truth spoke it,
Christmas is to remind us all,
It was the birth of the dominion of Love.
