October Rings True...

The leaves rustle in Autumn,
Everybody knows it,
The winds of change blow chill and howl a bit,
Yet change comes,
Inevitable and powerful,
The mighty grow old and time heals and steals,
All part of a parcel,
The burdens are put to rest,
For as the leaves fly away on the wind,
The snow comes and buries all that died,
Letting it feed the soil,
Make it fertile for all that's new,
For everything struggling with heroic labor to spring forth,
That the world can be renewed,
Beautiful again,
Free in the sunlight and warmth,
Unabashed in a family of life,
Even the rain knows,
The old kings go,
Grizzled,
Grizzled,
Under October's early snow.
