Baby Ice Blue

It's said that when you're young, your heart is tender.
It's a given thing so easy to surrender.
Ice blue eyes and raven hair,
Forgive me please, the helpless stare.

You see, I remember good things.

You laughed and smiled and held my hand,
We lived like children in the promised land.
Swimming pool heaven and River Fest,
Cotton candy dreams I once thought best.

I also remember sad things.

You gave your love to another in my face,
And took away something I never thought I'd replace.
I had an innocent young man's view,
I once believed in a love that's true.

Years later, my soul was able to be bare again.

Another washed away your sins and left you forgiven.
